LUMAGICA Hattingen: the next chapter
Back in time with magical lights
Last winter, where iron was once smelted and steel was rolled, glowing mythical creatures and interactive light installations captivated thousands. Ready for the next chapter? From the 24.22.2023 to 14.01.2024 we enchant our guests, young and old, with a new display of hundreds of fascinating luminous objects that speak of the elements of fire, water, air and earth. Follow us on the newly created two-kilometer circular route across the enchanted grounds of the Henrichshütte, right into the heart of fiery industrial history.
THE PARK ILLUMINATIONS IN HATTINGEN
This year it starts at Gate 2. The grandfather walks with his grandson through the magical history on the LWL grounds and tells us what life was like back then. Animal figures and many other light objects amaze visitors young and old.
“Once again it is the creative and substantive examination of the special history of the place that will make the staging of the park of lights a special experience in the coming winter,” explains museum director Robert Laube. “Visitors learn even more about the exciting history of the Henrichshütte.”
In addition to the theme concept, many new surprise effects ensure that the walk through the fiery past of the industrial park becomes an unforgettable experience - including the Henrichshütte sound-to-light show, the large DANCER figures at the registry office and numerous interactive stations to touch and participate in . But you will also meet some of the audience favorites from last year, such as the ship and the deer, again at the Henrichshütte. There are more than 300 light objects to discover in total.
“We want to bring light into the dark season and create a special experience for all guests. When I think of the happy faces of the visitors last year, I am convinced that we will also provide lumagical moments next winter with our new production,” says Andreas Armbrust, organizer of LUMAGICA.
City marketing is also looking forward to the second edition of the light park in Hattingen: “We saw last year that the light park perfectly complemented our urban offering in the run-up to Christmas and around the turn of the year and in conjunction with a visit to our nostalgic Christmas market in the historic Old Town was gladly and widely accepted. “It’s wonderful that next winter we can once again offer the people of our city such a special highlight with a new edition of the light park,” says Georg Hartmann, head of city marketing in Hattingen.
Look forward to the sparkling light adventure with us at the Henrichshütte - and share your excitement with your loved ones! Tip: Buy tickets online now at attractive pre-sale conditions and treat yourself to a gift as well.
