Marvel at the impressive industrial heritage at the LWL Museum für Eisen und Stahl Henrichshütte: here, the oldest blast furnace in the area rises 55 metres into the air. Enjoy fantastic views from our three mighty medieval castles, Isenburg, Blankenstein and Wasserburg Haus Kemnade. Hike through Elfringhauser Schweiz (Elfringhaus Switzerland) and come to rest: in the green hilly country of the Metropole Ruhr with its quiet stream valleys, ancient cottages and romantic country inns.

In summer we celebrate, dance and feast for 3 days at the Old Town Festival, in winter you can experience a glittering festive programme for four weeks at the most beautiful Christmas market in the Metropole Ruhr: the Nostalgic Christmas Market.
